Le passage du Gois

We wanted to cross via the Gois which is only practicable at low tide. It saves a detour of about 20 kms if you go via the bridge. The signs are very confusing. There was a large danger sign saying, 'Stop - rising tide' but cars were still crossing. Each years several cars are lost by those who are not cautious. I did not want to add to the number. The cars continued to cross for some time and then when I read the sign very carefully, it became apparent that crossing was possible up to one and a half hours after low tide. The sign flashes its warning as soon as low tide has passed just as a discouragement. It would be better just to have barriers as at a level crossing.

I have blipped the Gois before but then in very different light.
