Montparnasse Tower from les Jardins Atlantiques

Today was an interesting day... I came to Paris on the pretext of recovering younger son's wallet which had been stolen during his "Round Europe" summer trip. He received a letter from the French Police saying it had been handed in, but that he, his authorised representative or a member of the British Embassy had to collect it. It seemed to be a bit OTT to ask one of HM Ambassadors to pick it up, so I volunteered to "pop over and pick it up"! Any excuse will do! It turned out to be a really interesting day in Montparnasse, heading first for the office of "Objets Trouves" in the 15th Arrondissement then exploring in the vicinity.
I was very pleased to recover his wallet. All the money had been taken, but the thieves had obviously just thrown the rest away, so his cards and documents were all intact. This was good news, as we weren't quite sure what was there.
After a wander around the Georges Brassans Parc, I headed for la Gare Montparnasse and from there went up the Tour Montparnasse, which I would highly recommend. 59 stories high and offering panoramic views of the whole of Paris. I got some lovely shots of Paris including the Eiffel Tower.
Late afternoon I did a boat tour on the "vedettes" which was lovely...
Chose this shot, though as I thought it was quite unusual... a view of the Montparnasse Tower skyscraper from the Atlantic gardens...
