Set off in the car to explore New Providence today. Away from the hustle and bustle of Nassau, and away from the luxurious millionaire's homes, you see a different side to the island, a side missed by those just coming off the cruise ships for a few hours.
Our trip took us through lots of little towns and villages, some quaint and picturesque with brightly coloured wooden houses, others more modern and quite American in style. People generally appear to enjoy a comfortable standard of living and there are nice schools, adverts for nursery places and clubs for kids to join. "Little leagues" seemed to be very popular ...
