Sorry, mate

They've been threatening to do this for days. There have been a lot more wasps this summer than previous summers, and they've been buzzing around too stupidly close to our food and drink for a while. Finally, swimming happened. I guess it died happy.....

Anyway....a shopping day, in the sense that we went into Inverness and visited Highland Wholefoods, the Inverness Farmers' Market (only about 6 out of 10, for me....I think the Dornoch fortnightly Wednesday market is better for a variety of reasons), Xoko bakehouse for coffee and delightful sausage rolls (top notch, as always), and finally a supermarket that is not available north of Inverness where we really like purchasing wine and beer. Afterwards, we went to Munro's Nurseries for a pot for the fuchsia Mr A bought the other day from the local Garden Centre (not especially impressed and not a patch on Highland Lilliums) and then finally Fettes Sawmill to procure a garden shed (long promised to ourselves). We will now have to organise the creation of the relevant base for the shed. I think that means commissioning someone else to do it.

Back here in the afternoon, we put stuff in the ground/pots (Mr A) and mowed / strimmed the remnants of the back lawn (me), before relaxing together in the sun (it was a super warm day) in the sun with beers (and wasps....). Later we ate our dinner outside. It's been a super nice day in terms of weather (and also a super relaxing day for us). The weather won't last. We're now waiting for Storm Floris to zoom in on Monday, which may be the death of our sweet peas. I'm hoping that at least I will get my swim in tomorrow, followed by at least some time to lop back the annoying leylandii that overhang the garden at the back. Then the rain and wind can start. But not until then.
