Hydrangea

If blipping hydrangea flowers is good enough for my sister, then it's good enough for me! This is the one from the corner in the side garden, and I bothered to get the proper camera out, so it's worth a blip on its own, as opposed to being part of a collage.

Life continues, quietly, in the north. I had another good day on my article, with lots of texts and impressions swapped with my lovely colleague, on whom I rely greatly in these matters. I think I really have nailed the introduction and the structure, and there are already 6.5k words in the file, so it's more a question of rearranging and sharpening stuff up, and making sure I understand some recent developments that I haven't been following closely, in order - hopefully - to get a draft done by the end of next week. Fingers crossed. Anyway, it's been a most enjoyable process.

Apart from that, I had no meetings, I did a peloton workout, a few emails, and walked to the supermarket, as after all it is Friday night and we were wine-free in the house. I corrected this "mistake".

It's been a grey day, and I guess fairly cool. It was a bit chilly overnight. But not unpleasant weather, as there really is no wind, so for the aforesaid wine we sat outside with blankets over our knees, and obviously I was tempted into a bit of garden titivation, including cutting the sweet pea flowers (yes, we still have those in the far north on 1 August). We suspect the sweet peas might get swept away (i.e. blown over) by Storm Floris on Monday. We shall see. It's quite unusual to get a named storm in August, but it's not clear from the local forecast that we'll be getting any particularly heavy weather here in Tain.

In other (camera) news, I ordered a waterproof camera, taking my lead from Winsford, as I really don't trust the plastic pocket any more. Yesterday evening, I was warned by my phone that there was moisture in the power socket. Not good. So that's the end of it from that perspective. I've dumped the plastic pocket in the bin, but kept the neck string that came with it.  The new camera will be here on Monday, I think. It's a lot cheaper than a go pro.
