Still life
This might seem like an odd thing to blip on the day I took my new red camera to the beach for the first time. And produced some ok pictures (see extras: they needed a lot of work because the white balance was completely wrong, but Lightroom could come my assistance once I'd learned a new skill).
However, I've gone with the still life composition for my blip because I was pleased with it as a photograph (and unusually it was made with my big camera which does not get very much use these days....). The blip showcases the new £10 vase from the Highland Hospice shop, one of our asiatic lilies, and the variants on the money plant which I've blipped before. Set against the light coming through the living room in the morning, even before I went swimming.
Swimming was fun as ever. A good group of people. A drove.
In the afternoon, we tackled the overhanging leylandi in the back garden, pushing most of the stuff cut off back over the fence in the hope that it might suppress the growth of various things that come through our fence, like bindweed. No need to completely fill our brown bin with someone else's debris.
And then in the evening, we walked over to Hartfield Street for an evening with N&A, with Elmer generally being very good and only a bit over exuberant when we first arrived. They did a long munro walk yesterday, so possibly Elmer is still a bit weary from that. A lovely evening of gentle chat, listening to a CD related to the concert we went to last Saturday.
