Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A lovely sunny day (but a big storm arriving tomorrow).

A pretty relaxed day, really. JR cancelled her two gym sessions! She had a slow morning, with toast and marmalade in bed, and some gentle packing. I'm quite pleased, as there are no 'posh' restaurants to have to get dressed up for. Well - one especially is quite very 'upmarket', with a tasting menu type vibe and small plates, but no requirement to dress up.

I was up and busying myself - I took Archie for his first stroll to check out who has been along the road before him this morning. Then doing everyone's washing and hanging it out in the sun. Then logging on to NOW TV to watch the Lions game. £14.99 for the day, which was fine by me. But I think the match before this was the exciting one. Torrential rain in Sydney, and we could hardly see the players, let alone the ball. In fact, they had to call it off for 40 minutes while another storm swept through!! I've never seen that before. And so, it was never going to be the exciting running game we all want to see. But well done the Wallabies - I was pleased they avoided the 'white wash', but the Lions won the tour.

While I was thus engaged (it started at 11am) the others went out for a walk round the neighbourhood, showing Vicki some other easy neighbourhood walks, eg the graveyard. They also popped in to the Red Box.

I cut the grass before the rugby match, ordered a taxi for tomorrow morning, emailed our neighbours informing them that Vicki was here to look after Archie, and started packing.

Neil and Jen (the Aussies) are in Fife, on their way to St Andrews via the coastal route.

Right. We're off again on a cruise! A civilised flight at 9.30am. Bergen here we come!

PS There seems to be a LOT of footwear being left around for dogs to try on!

Actually, I think it's just Archie who does that...

EXTRA. Last night, photo taken by Neil..
