Well, it turned out quite fresh today! Vicki had to use the jacket that she hasn’t used all trip and was going to send home! And Neil bought a very nice tweed cap.
They were all busy - Neil and Jen climbed Arthur’s Seat, which kept them warm. Vicki went into town - she needed to get her only pair of shoes (she has sandals) fixed. And the kind man did them there and then for her.
Elizabeth took Archie out and briefly met Vicki. Dougal and his mum visited.
Neil and Jen came over for dinner. They’re in the Grassmarket - right next to Mary’s Milk Bar! And what fun we had. All the Aussies bonded well, knowing the same places
We had a wonderful meal, with nibbles and bubbles to start, and three different flavours of tablet that Vicki bought in town to go with coffees.
And then, I accidentally mentioned one of my all time favourite (Aussie) films - Muriel’s Wedding, and everyone enthusiastically agreed. I happened to check, and it was available on Prime. Big mistake. I started it, thinking we might just do five minutes or so. But there was no way we could stop. It’s STILL terrific. The Aussies knew a lot of the locations. But - quite a late night.
These photos were taken yesterday, so cheating a bit. But a reminder of a fun day in town.
VERY BUSY TOMORROW.
