Celebration
Wednesday today so the day started with church, I took along some banana bread for coffee time afterwards.
After church I took J with me to take Communion to one of my ladies. J is six years older than me and has dementia, it seems to be advancing rather rapidly. The change in her since this time last year is devastating. She's moved from being a strong willed, forceful woman to someone who no longer trusts her own judgment and assumes she will get things wrong.
E who we were visiting was a fellow choir member with J and they have been friends for 40 years , so taking J with me, gave them a good chance to meet up.
My next stop was back to the Rectory to meet a person coming to deal with the carpet moths which seem to be resident in the lounge carpet - which is one of the two we didn't replace. It's wool and the moths like it. There is one treatment today and another next week. Hopefully that will get rid of them. It's much easier to deal with them now when there is no furniture in the house.
We went with the proud parents to see Eilidh's summer violin concert. She's doing really well and has a lovely stance. Isobel has the same teacher and was allowed to join in the simplest group pieces, she's been playing for less than a year. It a lovely to see them both playing together. They both did really well and look so happy. I was a very proud Grandma. The Concert was in the Edinburgh Society of Musicians building, next door to Hazelh's gym. It's a stunning building with views across the Dean Village, see extras.
Tomorrow is Eilidh's last day of Primary School. The end of an Era.
