End of an Era
Today was about Eilidh. I headed down to school to see theP7 classes being piped around the playground, even the nursery children were there to give them a cheer as they passed. Lots of tears and all wearing signed sweatshirts and polo shirts. They'd all been given white bucket hats, those had all been signed as well. K and J had both managed to get there for Eilidh which was good, Katy cycling the 7 miles from the sick kids for a twenty minute parade then cycling straight back again. No wonder she's fit.
The girls both came with me, first back to their house to change then out for lunch. Those were both just delays before the main item of the day though, a visit to Scoop for an ice cream. Eilidh had mint choc chip with chopped nuts, Isobel had Ferrero Rocher with chocolate sauce. As the sensible grown up present, I had banana and caramel with chopped nuts (you didn't think I was going to miss out did you?)
By now Eilidh had cheered up a bit. We went down to the gasometer playground but unfortunately all the surrounding streets have double yellow lines so there was nowhere to park, which might explain why the place was empty. It seems very short sighted. There is a huge empty gas board building next to it with an enormous and empty car park. I was tempted to park there but didn't want to come back and find some zealous security guard had appeared from nowhere and slapped a ticket or clamp onto the car .
We came home instead, watched some TV and made pancakes for tea....as one does. Eilidh is off to SU camp on Saturday, so she has something to look forward to. They're off on holiday just after she gets back too.
