It's blowing a hoolie up there
The combination of the stacked lenticularis clouds on the right, and the classic northwest arch on the left, indicate very strong winds up above me. Bizarrely the air was completely still at ground level: there was not a breath.
I do love good cloudage.
The extra is of the new artichoke, cardoon and herb bed. I lifted and divided a few more artichoke and cardoon plants today and have put them close together into the new bed: much closer than they should be. This is because I fully expect there to be failures. If by some chance they all survive and grow I will relocate half of them. Somewhere...
The herbs are at the other end of the bed, looking straggly and sad, having been dug from the overgrown former herb bed. They will recover now that they are rescued. I have a few more to plant, from elsewhere in the garden.
I have just met the new neighbours briefly. They move in over the road in 10 days' time, and my first impression is that they are very shy. Conversation was hard work. But I did learn that they are desperate to live out here away from town, for a quiet undisturbed life. This bodes well...
