Woman, Man, Fish, Bicycle

It took a long time to get going this morning, but after some messages with bestie I set to work dealing with a fairly quick job on the Africa Twin, put it away again and somehow it was lunchtime.

I didn't really feel like cycling all the way into town yet again, to watch the Pride march from Holyrood to George Square, but a bunch of work colleagues were going along. It was also the Edinburgh canal festival today I think, but I've been before.

So in the cooler climes of the afternoon I cycled to Lakeland at Dobbies to get a new filter for the cooker hood. I am not sure how long the old one has been in but it was brown... The weather was overjoyed that the Mistress of Moisture was out and about, so it promptly rained on me. While I was in the shop it rained even harder and all I could think of was my lovely Brooks saddle getting drookit.

I went past the big pond on my way home and the swans were wandering up the path, a bit of a distance away from where they would normally be, but I counted five cygnets. The adult swan hissed very loudly when a dog and its owner strode merrily up the adjacent path completely unaware of the swans' presence. I had tried shouting an early warning twice at the man but he didn't hear me. Le sigh.

Dried out and cooker hood all sorted it was fish and chips for tea and to order some brake parts for Madame Fidra. Remember her?
