The one that got away

Kind of a day of tidying up, cleaning, washing, and being quite slow with everything.  The rain hammered down a couple of times, too, so just as well I couldn't remember what else it was I had forgotten to get from the supermarket* and gone out to get it.  I looked at maps for too long, again, made some more bread, ate some of it, and caught up with a couple of podcasts.  I may have had my feet up quite a bit too and zonked a tiny bit.

Since I took no photographs today, but it being the 22nd which sounds a bit like the 2nd, here is the photo I didn't post on that day when I rode home from York after Holz.  It's the bandstand in Murrays Green park in Jedburgh.  If it looks like a really good restoration, it isn't: it's actually a recreation, erected in 2006 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of its brass band.  The Princess Royal led the celebrations, no less.  The original bandstand was in Allerley Well Park, a bit to the south, when the park in my photo was still related to the abbey and the mills around it.

* naturally, I have since remembered!
