Phriday at last
I always like the summer because this big crop of what I have just learned is Biting Stonecrop – a variety of sedum – bursts into bloom and the bees go mad for it. Fortunately, possibly, there is another crop growing on the roof that I've been meaning to scrape off for ages but it means getting the big ladder out. Sometimes the gales knock bits off, because it doesn't have deep roots, and I try to replant them if I find them on the ground. It's quite fragile, too, and easy to break bits off by mistake.
A workmanlike day at the controls that lasted longer than it needed to, so once I was done I got changed and headed out for another bike ride. When I got home yesterday after a brief shop I realised the milk situation was dire. I only did eight or nine miles but hoo boy it was warm.
