John at Work
I fully admit that I wouldn't still be living here (30 years next month) if I didn't have John helping keep the garden in order. It's just too big to manage on my own. He enjoys the work, and I enjoy a tidy garden. These are two flowers that are putting on their annual show just now. The delicate white flower is the Penstemon "Husker's Red" with its dark maroon stem and the other is Lamium, "Purple Dragon". It is a lovely, variegated leaf ground cover with the unfortunate common name of "Dead Nettle". The garden stage changes scenes week by week with different actors taking center stage. Possible thunderstorms this afternoon which the newly blooming peonies will not like.
