The Wild, the Cultivated and the Edible
The Orange Hawkweed (also known as Devil's Paintbrush) is a wildflower that grows on the edge of the field right next to the "formal" garden. I tell Bob who mows my property to let it be, I like the bright orange. Of course, the Iris are intentionally planted as is the chives which blossom in June, a left over from the time this was a vegetable garden 20+ years ago. It faithfully returns every year. John is working on weeding the walks and the beds, a seemingly endless task that he actually enjoys, bless him. We got a bit of rain last night which was most welcomed. More rain this afternoon.
