Barbie and Ken

This couple parked themselves in front of us at Queens Park in Loughborough this afternoon where we had gone to listen to the RatBy Brass Band. Ken's contribution was to carry the blanket. Barbie had to spread it out and give herself enough room to lie down on it once Ken had plonked himself down.

This Ken is not the svelte model you might expect from having seen Ryan Gosling in the film. But it was the pink dress and shoes that made me think of Barbie.

Perfect June weather and a good crowd who supported the band. I'd say they were more musically attuned than the previous two bands we've heard but perhaps a bit too careful. The Band director was certainly trying to raise their profile. Apparently they've come fourth in an award for cultural activity in Leicestershire and expect to be featured shortly on East Midland News. They need to raise an extra £20,000 for the refurbishment of their band room.
