Multi-petalled poppy

Admittedly it looks like a variety of peony but it's actually a poppy that had self-seeded along the edge of the of the jitty behind Forest Street.

I took Basil with me down to the village to buy some meat for Sunday from Mr Twigg the butcher. Afterwards, we stopped at The Flower Lady where Carol served me a lovely latte and gave me three peonies to make up for the five that didn't bloom from two weeks ago.

Making our way up Hallcroft, I espied Colin's scooter at The Tap. Basil and I went in where I ordered a G&T. Colin was chatting with two mates one of whom, I discovered after leaving, owns a Porsche. He seems to be as disabled as me but he can drive a Porsche. Last year, he had an AlphaRomeo!
