Pretty Lady

Well, I’ve resisted for quite a while, but I have finally given in and uploaded my first Pretty Lady rose shot of the summer.

I’ve been to a service of thanksgiving today for a 93 year old friend from church. She was the most amazingly kind and hospitable lady and so many people had memories of her fantastic cooking. Smithers and I were the recipients of a really lovely meal nearly 30 years ago when we moved into this house (on the 22nd December, so not a great time to be cooking for other people). She arrived on the doorstep with the entire meal ready for us to eat, and I can’t tell you how welcome it was. I think we ate it on our laps on garden chairs in the as yet unfurnished family room! 

Some people leave a fantastic legacy of love and thoughtfulness behind, and she was definitely one of them, which is why so many folk had travelled long distances to come to the service.
