It's a Jungle..

...Out There! Shawn will have his hands full trying to weed and bring some order to all that chaos.

With all this rain, everything is shooting up whilst I write, creating masses of tangled greenery -  hostas, bleeding hearts and ferns fighting each other for space, where elsewhere, there are open, bare spaces where the resident birds and critters have trampled or eaten anything that has been trying to sprout. What a mess.. I see hydrangeas, a shrub, and a couple of Rose of Sharons that have not survived the winter and need to be replaced. Yikes..lots of work for Shawn!

Just as I decided to go out and try to get a blip photo of this jungle, the rain came down, so that didn't work well, but there were still some blip-ops of birds, even though the feeders were empty. ( extra)

Mr. Cardinal was still hanging around and the babes in the birdhouse still needed to be fed. I noted that mom and dad, with our cupboards bare, were flying  off to the neighbours to find something to bring home for the young 'uns. They had quite the relay system going. One stayed in the nest and when the other arrived with food, it came out to let him in and then flew off to find more food. Then the process was replayed and replayed. They are so clever and so well-organized that I just had to watch them and, of course, take photos despite the rain.

I am so easily amused.

First job tomorrow when the rain stops? Fill the feeders! Make life a little easier for parenting birds.
