Spanish City
Neither of us slept well. I forgot my head band with the attached earphones to listen to podcasts in the night. Mr C was thinking about the paint!
However we didn’t hear #2 daughter and Phil leave for the airport at 6am. The boys got themselves up and sorted for school and made their own breakfasts. Henry arrived as he does usually at 8.15 for James and they all left at 8.20. The take a circuitous route to school, picking up various friends en route. Meanwhile the parents had met Irish friends of mine by chance at the airport which was nice.
After breakfast Mr C drove home after a trip to B&Q to get the Farrow and Ball. He was pleased with the expert advice he got there and spent £24 on a sander so got all the old paint off easily today. He got the undercoat done on the door and tomortow he’ll start with the redoing the walls. It’s lucky he is a patient person.
I tidied up and had a walk down to the beach. My knee was painful so I had a rest in a place sheltered from the wind before hobbling back. It’s only 3km. I blipped Spanish City which is looking smart after renovation. It was pretty run down for many years. I always associate it with Dire Straits.
James arrived home with a friend Isaac and said Thomas had gone to another friend’s. James had football training at 5.15 which meant an early tea. He was picked up by another parent.
The parents stopped off in Naples to enjoy an authentic pizza then got the bus to their beautiful boutique hotel on the coast just outside Sorrento. There are only 4 rooms - they have a beautiful suite with a huge terrace overlooking the sea. The pool is on a terrace below so I hope it stays fine for them to enjoy it.
