Homeward bound

We had a good sleep in our Premier Inn near T5 Heathrow after getting the bus at Stand 6 using our bus pass. (The hotel Hopper was£6.75 each way).

Breakfast was cheap and really good with lots of fruit salads and decent coffee. A row of police vehicles was parked up outside. Mr C pointed out that Colnbrook immigration removal centre was nearby.

T5 was as usual totally unfit for purpose. The boarding pass scanners seemed not to function properly as it appeared someone on the flight hadn’t yet boarded though his bags had so we were delayed almost an hour.

I had a window seat (I prefer the aisle but we weren’t able to check-in on line in Tirana so had to take what we were given). Unfortunately it was too hazy to get a descent photo but it’s my blip.

#3 daughter came back from the allotment to give us our car keys and have a chat. She and Mr C took the house plants she’d been looking after for me while I had a chat with Ella. She’d got 3 baskets in her last basketball match of the season. She went along the street to have her dinner with friends then Nathaniel got home from a party (he’d been to one yesterday too) and told me about the acting malarkey. He said he likes the funny tummy it gives him. First it’s a nervous tummy then when he’s about to go and senses all the people there its a scared tummy but as soon as he’s on it’s exciting but then he forgets all that and does his part. He feels so excited and all happy when people applaud at the curtain call.

The woods behind our house are on fire. This happened some years ago - campers lighting fires - the peaty soil means they spread underground quickly. Fire service are there now.
