Hands on Hips!
As I posted this I thought that the handles reminded me of someone standing with their hands on their hips! The piece actually has three handles, one behind the neck out of sight. Needless to say I am very pleased indeed with this one although I had a lucky escape. The glazes ran almost off the bottom, particularly so under the handles where it kissed the kiln shelf but didn't stick.
A day mostly spent preparing for my trip away. I have Hot Water Plant rhizomes to sell and now have pictures on the packets which should help inspire people to purchase. Pottery is nearly all priced and packed, packing lists made. It'll take a few hours to finish off tomorrow but I am chilled regarding departure time and should be at Ruth's by supper time at the latest. It was pottery AGM tonight. The chairman has retired after his three year stint and the previous vice chair appointed in his place .... which left a vacancy for vice chairman. I kept my mouth shut but someone else made a suggestion I had to respond to! So, that's my role for now. I'm happier as a second-in-command kind of role and in a friendly, supportive community like ours, there's no pressure in being involved like this.
