Rising Temperatures
The Merry Widows were all present and correct for our weekly blether today. There were no icy pavements to contend with this morning and it was a balmy 2° when we convened at 10am. I can’t say I felt any warmer despite the higher temperature- there was a lot of dampness in the air.
As usual we put the world to rights again as only the OBEs think they can. In this instance OBE is not an acronym for Order of the British Empire. I leave you to guess.
With nothing in the can as a blip, I resorted to a post lunch walk round by Lauriston Place where it is possible to get a good view of King’s Stables Road through the grounds of George Heriot’s School and the south side of the Castle from the top of the Vennel.
Now I have to try and speed read the book for my book group discussion on Thursday- “We Begin at the End”.. by Chris Whitaker.
I began at the beginning about 6 weeks ago but haven’t progressed further in that time.
