Diary of an Edinburgher

Cancelled!

We all took a walk down over the Meadows this morning. It was bright sunshine, but blowing a hoolie, which was a real shame, as the torchlight procession was scheduled to begin down there for a change. We did attend one once, when it was in town, and it was a spectacular sight - hundreds of flaming torches wending their way along Princes Street and up to Carlton Hill.

But it was not to be … the wind had not abated - though it was calm up by us - and so Archie and I walked all the way down to the start, where the big screens announced the cancellation.

But on the way home, we took a detour to the local wine shop, where I picked up a bottle of bubbly which had just been sent from the Aussies. How kind!

Hazel popped over for a glass or two and a de-brief of each others’ busy Festive period. Hazel had her son from London for several days.

(8,976 steps - I’m stuffed!)
