Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

BIG WIND today. Even bigger than last night. As Archie and I walked round the Links, the tops of the trees were roaring

I popped in to visit Dougal and his mum on the way home. Dougal and Archie frolicked a bit. I like to see them playing. Here’s Dougal with his Christmas turkey.

I consulted the nearby cinemas with vague thoughts of going to a movie in the afternoon, but it’s mostly kids’ stuff. Though I am awaiting the Bob Dylan one.

So we decided just to stay put and find something on tv instead. Which isn’t easy. I’ve given up on the one everybody is raving about - ‘Black Doves’. In one episode I’m sure the violent shootings reached double figures, but I lost count. JR continued watching it, but I went to bed.

Sadly, the high winds are predicted to still be here tomorrow, possibly with snow… so the Hogmanay celebrations in town are cancelled. Shame for folk who have travelled here especially.
