Tinto Hill
The snow had melted by this morning. My partner and I set off to visit my eldest son and his family, who currently reside in Biggar but will soon be moving to Livingston. As he hasn't been well, we decided to bring homemade soup for lunch. The bus arrived on time and wasn't too crowded. This service is usually popular with visitors to the Pentland Hills, but yesterday's bad weather likely deterred many. The weather was quite sunny. We arrived just in time for morning coffee.
Afterward, we took a walk near the village of Coulter, enjoying a pleasant two-mile woodland loop that's popular with dog walkers. The path was quite muddy in places due to the snowmelt and heavy overnight rain. There were some lovely views of the nearby Tinto Hill, which, while not the highest in the area, is distinctive as it stands alone from the Southern Uplands.
After our walk, we enjoyed the homemade soup for lunch, followed by a small piece of cake. We spent some time with my youngest grandchild, who is nearly four months old. We then caught the mid-afternoon bus home, arriving just in time for afternoon coffee.
