The Sound of Music

Forgive me for this title but I just couldn't resist. I took this photo walking back down to the centre of Verbier after a couple of hours enthralled by the masterclass given by Gabor Takacs-Nagy.

He's a brilliant maestro. Currently music director of the Manchester Camerata (among other things). He is a Hungarian violinist who is so gifted as a specialist in chamber music. He conducts and leads with passion and this morning he was guiding a young Czech ensemble, the Eben Trio, through some Dvorak.

Weather is wonderful. The place is wonderful. The food and wine are wonderful. The people are wonderful........And the music!!!!!!!!

Tonight it's Bryn Terfel singing Wagner and Anna Netrebko singing Desdemona from Verdi's Otello.

I'm in heaven.
