Alpine butterfly

What is it?

I was walking back down to the centre of Verbier after an excellent lunch with my German friend Annette and a master class run by Sir Thomas Allen (the Marriage of Figaro) when I saw this butterfly.

I paused and took this when it settled.

Is it a sort of Ringlet?
It was certainly beautiful.

And I'm so excited. Christian Tetzlaff has had to cry off from the concert tomorrow night (I don't wish him any harm of course) and guess who is replacing him?
