Music in the Alps

I've blipped this glorious statue in previous years. These musicians are performing for the mountains just opposite my hotel and the sight of them in the morning sets the mood.

I've had a marvellous day today. (By the way Bryn Terfel was fantastic last night).

I spent the morning listening to Thomas Quasthoff giving a masterclass in song. Six brilliant youngsters were warmly, lovingly and humorously taken through pieces of their choice. He is magnificent and charismatic and the singers audibly flourished.

The final young lady, an Austrian soprano - Christina Gansch - is one with a great future.

Met up with a friend for lunch and then I spent the afternoon at a masterclass/rehearsal of Rossini's opera "The Barber of Seville". Claudio Desderi was marvellous too.

Concert tonight

Thank you everyone for all the super comments so far on my Swiss adventure.
