Broch, Croft, Lighthoose

An overcast day, much cooler again.  Fairly calm all day, a breeze tonight.

Up early, breakfast in the caravan.  A brisk morning walk with Sammy.  Headed out for a run in the car and some sightseeing, then a big morning walk.  Back to the caravan for lunch and feet up for a bit.  More walkies with Sammy before tea.  A fine quiet evening, last walk of the day, then some live music in the bar tonight.

Another broch ticked off my bucket list.  There wasn't much to see as far as the broch goes, a few exterior walls poking out.  On top of the 500BC tower, sits the more recent and probably 18th century croft building, recorded as a store, and then the more recent lighthouse, dating back to 1909.  A large slab of concrete has been poured over the broch, acting as a sea defence for the lighthouse, also protecting the broch.  The three buildings do make a lovely setting over Firths Voe, Infield, Mossbank.
