A perfect afternoon
This morning I went back to the gym after 4 weeks! It was hard, but I felt good afterwards, and when I got home I started clearing out some cupboards and threw a lot of stuff away in readiness of our move. I did all of this in my gym kit as there was no point having a shower and then needing another one!
Then this afternoon I walked into town and met Irene and Michelle at Godiva for a glass bottle of champagne. Michelle is to the left of the photo and Irene to the right, so you have me in the middle :-)
Michelle found out last week that she's moving back to the UK too - in 7 weeks time, so she's got a lot to do in a short period of time. That's one disadvantage of being a real Ex-Pat, you go wherever the company send you and whenever they want. For myself and Alan, we were here in Belgium on a permanent Belgian contract, and it was our choice to move back. It was nice to meet up with her and compare notes, and hopefully I'll get to see her again before we leave.
On my way back home Irene and I met up with Alan at the dealers where we left the Quad bike for them to try and sell it. Anyway, there's been interest, but no-one's bought it, but the owner offered us a price. It's only slightly lower than we wanted, so we accepted, and it's much easier than us having to try and transport it back to the UK and sell it there.
Tonight we're out for a meal at Jardin D'Asie our favourite Thai restaurant with our friends Laurence and Jonathan - one of many farewell's over the next couple of weeks!
In other news, I'm now the proud owner of an iPad Mini :-) In Belgium, once a year we get Eco-Cheques with which you can buy economy saving electrical items, Eco cleaning products, plants and other items for the garden, together with bikes and train travel. However, my friend told me that one of the big electrical stores accepts them for anything, so we went last night as we had 350 euros to spend, and they confirmed that we could buy anything. So I we now have an iPad. Alan who doesn't like Apple products, seems to be enjoying it, so I may have to fight him for it ;-)
Anyway, I'd better go and get ready for our night out - hope you have a lovely evening.
