Stone fruit

Heat rising fast this morning.  Headed to the market early and was back home by 10.30.

Made peperonata - extra before the sun warmed the kitchen up.  It's salads for meals for the next few days.

Outside temperature recorded 35°.  The previous owners of our house installed a long tarmac drive leading to a garage which punctuates the garden and a patio behind which on these hot days absorbs and radiates a lot of heat.  I've planted trees to give shade and the difference is considerable.  The drive is one of those features which is very expensive to undo.
