Bumper crop - soon

Didn't sleep well last night.  The warm night necessitated open windows but the passing traffic kept waking me up.  One key reason to move.

Rose early at 6 to allow a cool walk for the hound.  

Made a spinach and broad bean eggah/frittata to have with salads for dinner.

Been reading The Scarlet Letter which is hard going.  The story centres around seventeenth century Puritan Boston.  Both the moral tone and the verbose writing do not entice.  So I'm trying to read in longer spells to give the book a chance against my resistance.  Plus Anna who gave me the book wants to discuss it. 

Our plum tree is weighed down with fruit.  A time in its history a bough broke from the weight.  We bandaged the bough and it lived on.  It would be good to make plum jam before the birds and wasps set in.

It's clouding over.  We have had a very brief bout of rain.  More is forecast but it's a bit hit and miss.
