Original Sin

Over to Monsaraz again today for a talk by a delighfully eccentric archeologist entitled "The Original Sin: Intensive Agriculture from Neolithic Times until Today" - he got quite a discussion going. Why, if we know what we need to do, do we not do it?? Short-sighted greed, basically.

Heather, who lives near there, asked if we knew a plumber - thankfully, Mike was able to sort her problem, though it took a while. Not that there aren't capable plumbers around, but getting them to actually appear is another thing.

As we walked out of the town, the staff at Xarez having a break. We used to love going there; it's owned by a guy from Mourão, but then it never seemed to be open; and now we prefer Sahida.

Gratefuls:
- a Zoom meeting finishing early (though will have to have another one on Wednesday)
- Mike persevering with my lack of much pension; had to wait several times on different calls for about thirty minutes each time, and getting cut off other times (still not sorted)
- the bright waxing gibbous moon shining into our window as I write
