Stuff and Nonsense

King Swallowtail

A day of catching up on things after our holiday and a quick visit to the Butterfly House. We have received a new batch of pupae and they had all been pinned on Wednesday. This morning there were over 30 that had emerged overnight since yesterday, most of them being plain tigers.
It’s looking particularly lush in there at the moment but not much was flying on account of it being quite cold today.
Today’s beauty is the King Swallowtail which is predominantly found in the southern states of the US, Mexico, Central and South America.

No doubt there will be another of our new arrivals tomorrow as I’m on shift in the morning.

I’m thinking of arranging a blipmeet for around 10am on Thursday 25th July if anyone is interested, hopefully with some warm weather. Let me know if you are and I’ll post the details on the community pages.
