Last Day of Summer Lacrosse
We were awake at 5:00 - why? Headed to the bathhouse knowing it would be all ours. We are impressed with the conditions in there. Walls freshly painted, rooms clean and private, sinks and showers appeared to be granite. Great water pressure. An anomaly! We made breakfast and lunch sandwiches and headed to the fields. The boys had a great day. Won the 8:50 game 16-1 and 10:30/last game of the season 7-4. The moms made sure the boys stayed hydrated. Thought you’d like to see our team’s gathering place in the shade. The pop up tent wasn’t necessary today. These are Parker’s landscaping buddies and their families. The rest of the team was just outside the frame. They live in the neighboring county but the coach wanted our boys to play on his team, so they are. Makes a lot of driving for practices; the parents trade off getting all the boys there. Jamie and family packed up and headed home at the end of the game. Parker played hard today and was exhausted. Hubby and I had a celebratory ice cream cup at a local market. We then headed to the camper. I called my mother to make sure she had her a/c on and was drinking plenty of water. Kim and friend Becky are going to prayers for the friend I mentioned last Monday. My mother lives in that town so they checked on her. They made sure the a/c was on in her bedroom and kitchen at least. She was waiting for her card players. We ate our lunch in the air conditioning. Kim told us about another winery not far from our camp site. We rode over and shared a flight of their whites. Hubby bought me a bottle of their Rkatsiteli, a new grape for us. The wine is somewhat like Savingon Blanc but even lighter. Hubby also sampled the rose but since it was 17% Pinot Noir, I didn’t try it. For some reason, I am allergic to that wine and Zinfandel. I did not want hives or worse in this heat. It was 91°F today with a 105°F heat index. We came back to the camper and hubby is taking a nap while I work on blip. We’ve had fun these last four days. Haven’t really been at the camp much but we are here to support Parker. We’ll leave tomorrow. Then we’ll be home a few weeks and head to the farm. I just can’t believe the summer is already half over. Hope you got in a little rest today. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “Sunshine, laughter, and lazy days, that’s what summer’s all about.” - Sandjest
