It's a drizzly day
with cool temperatures  and grey
skies to keep us in

I was up having my granola at 4:30 AM. It seems a ridiculous time to be awake on a wet Sunday morning, but it is what it is. I feel sorry for all the Dads this Father's Day as the weather is not promoting much outdoor activity.

I drove across the bridge and up the hill to Thompson Rivers University's horticultural garden at 5:30. I picked my way around the puddles and enjoyed the floral offerings. Except for the robins, I had it all to myself.

I like to walk around the lily pond tucked in the back of the garden. The climbing roses looked splendid against the wall. I was surprised to find a lovely clematis wound into a tree. Its blooms were very large. I found some late iris in many different colours.

I stopped in the parking lot at the outer edge of the campus which looks over the valleys. It was not a very joyous panorama but it does document the day.

I picked up a few groceries and my breakfast before returning home before 7:30. Rain will keep me indoors today.
