Gotcha!

Had a lovely walk around Coppice Pond after a coffee at Lady B's this morning. It was lovely as it was shady and the theme of 'cool and green and shady' was in my mind for today's blip, but at the lower end of the pond the Heron was busy.

I couldn't resist taking him and as you can see from the rings he has just successfully 'fished' into the pond. I don't know what he has got but you can see it a little larger in this one.

What he didn't get was one of the enormous Pike Chris spotted, all at the bottom end of the pond. 18" to 2 ft long at least and all near the surface. Never seen this before and someone else passing made the same comment. Don't know if it was the heat or something else. Interestingly all the fishermen were at the other end of the pond!
