Seeing red

I was playfully reminding BikerBabe yesterday that today would be Phriday, so really, I ought to do no less. :-)

Since after drainpipe spotting I went to all that trouble last Sunday to visit various extant (and one that turned out not to be!) K6 telephone boxes – or kiosks, to use the technical term – in case any had come from ye olde Lion Foundrye, which they hadn't, I made a collage today.  From left to right we have:

Inverkeithing (Carron Company, Stirlingshire)
Auchtermuchty (Carron)
Ladybank (Walter Macfarlane/Saracen Foundry, Glasgow)
Freuchie (Carron)

Work ended up being another late finish on account of being the last one standing (bah!), so I was straight out on Fidra to Mum and Dad's to help them with the rest of their veggie lentilly hotpotty thing from yesterday.

Some pop starlet called Taylor Swift is performing in Edinburgh, and was sound checking this evening.  We could hear it a few miles away.  So for the heck of it I rode into town to see how loud it was, but the police presence was so heavy I had to make do with a general circuit of the area before heading for the city bypass and speeding home.  It has gone very breezy and cold: the air temperature was only 9ºC and despite putting the heated grips on maximum, my airy summer gloves, thin baselayer, thin tights and no winter linings in my jacket and trousers meant I got home with fingers and toes turning white, and the rest of me in need of a hot drink.
