Greek Myth on 16th c Gubbio Ceramic Plate

We spent the morning visiting Gubbio’s Civic museum in the the Palazzo Consoli (pictured in June 3). One section is dedicated to Ceramics and today’s blip is dedicated to one of the ceramic pieces in the Ceramic museum. It is a 16th century plate depicting the Greek myth with Circe, Pico and Canente. I’m too lazy to translate the full description in Italian. I did google Circe and learned that she was an enchantress got her revenge on men that have wronged her by turning them into a pig. I thought the Cinghiale was hunting for truffles, but maybe it is some guy who got on the wrong side of Circe.
After the museum, we visited Ceramic Shops…I did not buy anything! Then we went back to Spello.
