Heaven, I’m in Heaven

A very, very, very slow day. The refrigerator and our cupboards were bare, so we biked down to the SuperConti to buy groceries. My only exercise today was riding back up the hill (which IS a workout). I’ve been blowing my nose and sneezing all day. I feel a bit lethargic, have a sinus headache, and I’m ignoring the scratch in my throat. Has my hay fever morphed into a head cold? I’ve spent the entire day on our terrace, moving from a chair at the high table with the panoramic view, to the chaise lounge with a sky view. I’ve been sipping liquids all day, starting with Ceylon black tea with milk in the morning, Wild Cherry tea with a lemon wedge in the afternoon to Aperol Spritz with an orange slice this evening. St. Michael served me lunch and dinner on the terrace, doing both the cooking AND cleaning. Plus, he graciously went to the pharmacy to get me meds for a sinus headache and congestion. This is not a simple task. In Italy, over the counter, literally means ‘over the counter’. You have to ask the pharmacist (yes, the pharmacist) for any medication, even contact lense solution, and they’ll go in the back room to get what you need. You can’t just find the stuff on the shelf yourself. You have to communicate well enough in Italian to get the right thing. Mike successfully returned with a pack of ibuprofen and a pack of geranium root extract (?!). Geranium root extract? I took both and I’m feeling better. I’ll have to send a note to Pope Francis about getting Mike on the canonization list.
My slow day was productive. I have finally to caught up with my backlog of blips! I had only one photo to choose from today. My view while laying on the chaise lounge, looking up at the clouds, watching the swifts swoop and whistle in a manic flight pattern over head.
Heaven, I’m in Heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness that I seek
[Sing it, Frankie!]
When we are out together dancing cheek to cheek
