Ponies

A beautiful sunny morning meant that conditions were perfect for wandering around Country Fest this morning. Probably best described as “county show lite” with less sheep and cattle and more emphasis on family fun.
The Shetland Pony racing was very entertaining. Two heats and then a final. Only two laps of the arena, but they were flat out and very close in each race. The young lady in the yellow and black check handled her pony superbly and went on to be the overall winner.
It clouded over this afternoon, so it wasn’t too disappointing to be stuck indoors catching up on jobs around the house. And we did buy a few goodies from the food tent before we left the show, so that’s something to look forward to this evening.
