Birthday Boy

It was raining again this morning, after a lot more rain overnight.  My plans for an early walk or run did not come to fruition, so instead I pottered and then headed to M&S for a few things.  It was a very wet morning and when I got back home, we were waiting on BB making an appearance, as today is his 18th birthday.  He appeared very late morning and we had a late  breakfast, cards and presents.  Some things stay the same – there was Lego – but some things change – there was also beer in amongst his presents.  Anyway he was delighted with his gifts.  At this point in the day his best gift was an all blacks rugby shirt.

We then all got ourselves changed and headed out to meet friends for a birthday lunch.  We had a lovely lunch – we all ate too much, and they put a candle in BB’s dessert and everyone sang happy birthday to him – not long after we had all sung happy biorhtyda to a lady at the table next to us!  The rain was almost off when we left, and we wandered up to the Haddy Tap, where we had a couple of drinks while listened to some music, courtesy of Haddstock.  Another couple of friends joined us for a swift half to wish BB happy birthday.  We all departed and went our separate ways.  R came round later and we all enjoyed cake and a chat.  She also brought BB’s birthday gifts, which he was delighted with.  TT couldn’t hack the pace, and disappeared to bed, then BB walked R home.  Her gifts may be his favourites now!

This is definitely not my best photo of the day, but BB is rather camera shy these days – but here he is with almost his favourite present.
