Heart Petal

Another day, another slow start. My main job this morning was to ice BB’s birthday cake. The kitchen looked like there had been an explosion of icing sugar. Once the cake was done, I then had a lot of cleaning up to be done.

BB appeared late morning. It was too late to go out for breakfast, so we went out to a local cafe for lunch. It was very busy, but we got a table, and we’re then served by one of NB’s friends. He had a toastie and I had a bowl of lovely soup with a cheese scone.

We then walked round by the river, then back home. I popped out for a brisk walk, before getting ready to head into Edinburgh, where we met up with TT for a quick drink, before going to a Vietnamese restaurant for a lovely birthday dinner. They presented BB with a special dessert, complete with a candle.

The rain came on when we were on our way home. We got soaked. There was cake with candles when we got home, and BB opened his birthday presents. He has had a lovely birthday.

I spotted this little heart petal along the railway track. BB’s cake is in the extra, and the tulips at our lunch venue.
