Naughty little Collie pup

I'm not allowed on the sofa. When Ann is in the house I obey the rules and I wouldn't even dream of having a little snooze on human chairs. However, when I get left 'home alone' it's a different matter..................


The routine is..................... Ann says, 'Trixie, I'm going out'. When she says that, I immediately go into my bed, Ann switches the radio on and gives me a couple of treats. She also lays the cushions down on the sofa to dissuade me from jumping onto the sofa when I'm 'home alone'.

 ..........This routine has worked perfectly for more than a month. Usually when Ann comes home, I'm either snoozing in my bed or I'm stretched out on the rug. And nine times out of ten I usually ignore Ann and don't even bother to greet her??!!


Mmmmmm................ the cushions on the sofa are no longer a deterrent?! Tbh, Ann's surprised that they've stopped me jumping onto the furniture for so long.  When Ann's sister, Jill, was staying here for the 'big family holiday', she didn't follow the instructions properly for leaving me 'home alone', so I realised that, actually, all I had to do for a snooze on the sofa, was shunt the cushions along a bit, or even just pull them onto the floor.

When Ann came home from work today, this is where she found me............ She wasn't happy! She just gave me the evils.  TBH, she doesn't really care if I go on this sofa because it's more than 20 years old and she wants to replace it with something a bit more hip & trendy. However, if she does buy something a bit more hip & trendy................. I definitely won't be allowed anywhere near it!!! so I need to practise not going on the sofa now!!

And in other news....................... St Ives is absolutely rammed with holiday makers. It's been a beautiful day so Ann's plan (when she finished work at 3pm) was to walk me and then sit on our very sunny sun terrace with a glass of wine and a trashy magazine. ….....Best laid plans and all that............... I went for my afternoon walk and on the way back it started to rain. Booohoooo. It's pouring now so Ann isn't sitting on the sun terrace with a glass of wine. …...........Her liver probably needs a rest after the 'big family holiday' anyway. She's just about to cook some spicy pork kebabs in the air fryer. She'll have those with a very small portion of oven chips which she will cook in the air fryer. And some baby corn & mushrooms which she will cook on the hob. She absolutely loves her air fryer (after resisting buying one for two years). It's fab! Since buying it, the only time she has used the oven was a week past Saturday when she cooked a 'Mediterrean Salmon Tray Bake & Potato Wedgies for the 10 members of the 'big family holiday'.  


It's absolutely chucking it down with rain now and we have the heating on.  Please come back Mr Sunshine.
