What a productive day my human has had..............
The sun was shining brightly so we got up at 6.45am and went for my usual trek along the beaches. There's something really lovely about the beaches at that time of the day. Hardly anyone there and it's so nice to hear the sea gently lapping against the sand. (See extras).
Having said that, there was already a small queue of cars at 7am waiting to get into the 'Island car park'.
What is it with holiday makers that makes them want to travel through the night and then queue to get into a car park??? Last weeks visitors don't have to be out of their accomodation until 10/11am so we're pretty sure the people in the queue didn't manage to find a space until 2-3 hours later. It's absolutely mad, because in this particular car park, if you leave to go out on a day trip etc, then there's no way that there is going to be a space free when you come back. So the holiday makers might as well just go and park in one of the other car parks, but oh no, they all pretty much want their cars in their bedrooms with them?!! #sad
Moving swiftly on because my human must not RANT.......................
By 10am this morning she had walked me for an hour, done a Zumba class for an hour and swam in the sea. After her swim, she sat on a rock who does she think she is?... Shirley Valentine? and ate breakfast. It was idyllic. She'd brought her own breakfast – coffee and a sausage/tomato/cheese wrap. Last week she bought a coffee and a sausage bap from the 'beach bar' and it cost her more than £8.
............She thought that was a bit excessive? OK, we know businesses are struggling right now, but a weak black coffee and a sausage bap with no extras............................... More than £8 is a lot.
Home and after a lovely afternoon sitting writing on the sun terrace, my human really is 'living the dream'
Moving swiftly on because my human must not RANT..................
After a bit of a lie down on our very sunny sun terrace (and a play in the field for me), Ann spent more than 3 hours this afternoon writing, whilst sitting at her work station outside. She really is living the dream.......................
Her book ('My life in lockdown') is not going to be a 'best seller' and actually, she's probably not going to publish it in book form, because she doesn't think anyone will be interested in it. However, it will be out there on the internet for everyone to read when it's finished.
And amazingly............................. writing it, is bringing back so many memories. For example, in May 2020, she wrote a blog for 31 days about various aspects of 'stuff' that was important to her during lockdown. That will all be in her book/on her website (if she eventually gets to publish it). 'Stuff' being anything from how isolated she felt as a single person, to how annoyed she felt at how all the politicians were breaking the rules.
Even if my human just writes this book for herself, it will be an achievement. It will be a record of her life in lock down. Nobody else has lived her life. And nobody else experienced the same thoughts, feelings and emotions as my human did. She likes to think she's making 'social history'. Lol!!!
As for me, a day in the sun has worn me out
