FAMILY DAY

Becky was up and about early to go for a 5k run at 6am.  She said the village was quiet and she didn't see anyone else while she was out.

They packed up their stuff, I took my blip shots and we said our Goodbyes.  They were on their way at around 8.15am.  They  left their car in Newcastle and went on the train to Edinburgh.  Astrids first visit to Scotland.

I did a few chores and then went back to bed for an hour or so.  Around 1.15pm I walked down to the village to get a bus to Winlaton.  Then I headed to Neil's.  I was " booked in " to keep Luna company for a few hours while Neil and Rachael were out.  Had a catch up with them before they left.  They were off to the Quayside in Newcastle for " Bottomless Brunch".  They left around 3pm. 

I watched TV -  the F A Cup Final between Manchester City and Manchester United.  Luna settled down on the sofa beside me.  As a Newcastle fan I was hoping Manchester City would win as that would mean European Football for Newcastle next season.  However that wasn't to be.  After a poor season Man Utd played well today and won the match 2 - 1.

I left Neil's around 5.15pm and got a bus to the Metrocentre.  Then I had 19 mins to spare before my bus home would be leaving so I did a very quick shop in Poundland and Greggs and got back to the bus station with time to spare. 

After having something to eat I fell asleep in the armchair for an hour or so.  Its been a busy couple of days.  I will be glad to get back in my own bed tonight.  The spare bed is not very comfortable so I'm looking forward to be back sleeping on my memory foam mattress.

The weather today has mostly been lovely.  Warm and very sunny.  But we had rain this evening.

Blip shot... Mike, Astrid and Becky.  Extras of Astrid and Luna. Ive seen both my children today as well as granddaughter, son in law and daughter in law ... but not all together.  Hopefully next time Becky, Mike and Astrid come north they will have more time and we can all get together.
