LEGOGLE
My morning started off with the most beautiful sunrise (after a cup of fruit tea and a snuggle with Logan who was somewhere under the duvet for the entire night)
A few deer were delicately picking their way around the edge of the campsite. Bird song was everywhere.
The sound of a kingfisher coming from behind us was rewarded with a fly by of one of our most beautiful birds and definitely one that inspires mindfulness.
I received a text from Lorraine that required a shorter than normal walk, as I was heading home past a previously spotted tits nest I wanted to see if they had fledged, no but 5 nearly full grown chicks yelling out for food greeted me.
On returning to the campsite I prepared a simple breakfast of sourdough toast with apricot and strawberry jam and some fruit tea with added Exmoor honey. This was enjoyed sitting in the warm sunshine again listening to silence other than bird songs.
The rest of my day consisted of tidying and relaxing with Logan in the most beautiful sunshine and surroundings.
I had to pass my best friend Logan back to his own home as I had planned to support my long time friend who is in the area riding from Lands End to John O Groats, and back to Lands End (LEGOGLE)
I rode up towards Paul and met him near east Yarde Cafe which was closed!
We enjoyed banter, gorgeous spring weather and stunning scenery along the route to Bideford where we met up with an ex work colleague Chris who had ridden out straight from work hoping to find us.Paul was resting after his 100 mile ride.
I had agreed to take Paul for supper and so I rode home and after a rapid change of clothes drove to Bideford where we enjoyed a traditional fish and chip feast sitting in the late evening sunshine by the estuary.
Paul is riding this challenge to help a presently poignant charity which supports men with suicidal tendencies.
