Family visit
Crow again at 5.20am. ‘Is it a crow or a jackdaw?’ said my cousin Charles when I joined him and his wife at Mum’s for lunch. I hadn’t checked but it was clear the sparkling silver thing didn’t deter it.
Vikram went off to see his daughter in the Dorset house of her new boyfriend. An unexpected twist in the Father/daughter narrative. He took Woody as she’d requested to see him so I worked home alone all day. I dashed over to see Charles and Natasha for lunch with Mum. She brought the lunch, as she often does, so we ate well. She made a pudding out of ricotta, honey, pink peppercorns and sliced oranges and scattered blue flowers on top. ‘Borage from your mother’s garden’ she said. ‘That’s not borage’ I said ‘it’s green alkanet, but a relation of borage’. I swiftly googled before anyone ate one and it is edible. ‘I already ate one’, said Mum.
Most of the day I was trying to get into the portal of the viewing sight for the Digital awards which whirled and refused to load. Very frustrating. In the evening I resorted to texting a friend who’s also on the jury to find out which eps we’re watching as I thought it might be simpler to go straight to the streamers.
I’ll be glad when this is over as I have some new stuff I need to watch.
V got back at 7pm, lots to tell. I made dinner and then sat on the sofa trying to get through the entries. I managed to watch two things, one of which I’d already seen but as I revised my opinion of it was worth doing.
